By registering to be a participant in the EkoRoad car pooling service you commit to respect the following community chart.
Purpose of the chart:
This chart is the result of a collective effort and it tries to address difficulties which may arise in the course of real world car pooling experiences.
By stating simple principles and pre agreeing on way to settle disagreements we believe that all members can benefit.

Primacy of the law:
In no event shall this community chart be considered a substitute for the laws of the countries in which members are travelling together.
In case of a conflict in between the content of this chart and the local law, such law shall always prevail.
Legal age:
Members guaranty that they are older than the legal age in force of their country of residence (18 years in most European countries).
Prior to travel together, every member is responsible to check that other members comply with the legal age requirement.
Identity disclosure:
In the context of real world encounters, members accept to disclose their real identity to others.
It is counsidered good practice to show identity documents prior to travelling together.
Vehicule safety and insurances:
Any travel offer contains details on the vehicule that will be used for the trip.
Vehicule owner are responsible to ensure that the vehicule they are using to transport others is properly maintained so as to safely operate.
Vehicule owner are also responsible to suscribe proper insurances so as to cover liabilities toward their passengers in case of an accident.
It is considered good practice for driver to show the vehicule documents to passengers prior to travelling together.
Respect of time schedule:
Prior to travelling together, driver and passenger agree on a meeting point and time of encounter.
Members timely inform each other of any delays of more than 10 minutes.
Mutual safety:
Driver shall drive in safe manner, taking into account that reinsurring their passengers is also an important matter.
Prior to discussing with the driver, passenger shall evaluate whether it is the right moment to do so, as traffic conditions may require driver full attention.
Respect of driver confort:
Driver is always right when he requires a passenger to refrain smoking, talking or eating meanwhile such passenger is onboard his vehicule.
If driver is a smoker, he informs his passengers of this prior to trip departure.
Payment of financial participation:
Prior to travelling together, driver and passenger may have agreed on a financial participation to the travel costs.
Passenger agrees to pay for such financial participation at the end of the trip, and accepts to show the driver that he has the necessary money prior to trip departure if driver requires so.
Right to withdraw prior to departure:
Passenger may refuse to board driver vehicule for any reason he judges convenient, without having to explain what motivates such decision.
In the event a passenger take such decision, he is not liable to the payment of trip financial participation.
Driver may refuse to accept a passenger for any reason he considers relevant, without having to explain what motivates such decision. In the event a driver takes such decision, he is not liable to any payment towards the non accepted passenger.
Right to withdraw during travel:
During a trip, a passenger may requires to leave driver vehicule, without having to explain what motivates such decision.
If at the time the passenger takes such decision, more than 50% of the scheduled itinerary has been effectued, passenger is liable to the payment of the full financial participation.
During a trip, a driver may requires a passenger to leave his vehicule, without having to explain what motivates such decision.
In the event a driver is to take such decision, the passenger is not liable to the payment of the financial participation.
Regardless of the fact, that trip is interrupted at the initiative of passenger or driver, driver shall ensure that the passenger is left in a safe area close from human activity points such as fuel station, city etc...
